Ladbrokes Overview
The betting company that would become Ladbrokes was founded in 1886 in London, England by Messrs Schwind and Pennington, which five years later was officially named Ladbrokes. Although it survived two World Wars, Ladbrokes’ light began to fade in the mid-1950s, so much so that it was acquired in 1956 by managing director Mark Stein and his nephew Cyril Stein for the relatively paltry sum of £100,000.
However, with the able guidance of the Steins coupled with the legalisation of betting shops in Great Britain in 1961 under the Betting and Gaming Act, Ladbrokes began to once again flourish. Cyril Stein made the brilliant and until then unprecedented move of opening a string of high street betting shops. He also spearheaded the introduction of fixed odds on football bets, which was a huge success.
In 1966 Ladbrokes was taken public on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and since then has gone from strength to strength. After moving into the online and mobile betting space, Ladbrokes services are now accessible by more betting fans in the UK and beyond than ever before. Based in Stratford, London, Ladbrokes offers sports and financial betting, as well as online casino, bingo, poker and other games.
The company employs over 16,500 people and generates more than £1.5 billion in revenues each year.
Ladbrokes has a long list of excluded countries, i.e. nations that it doesn’t allow players to sign up to its online services from. However, three countries not on that list are Nigeria Mauritius and Ghana. This means players in these countries are free to sign up with Ladbrokes online, make a deposit and bet on any and all local and international betting lines like soccer, golf, tennis, cricket, rugby and many more.

(insert screen shot of the cashier page)

- Instadebit
- MasterCard
- Moneybookers
- Neteller
- Paypal
- Ukash
